We've created this page because we want to make a difference with the situation in the oceans. The Bali Hope SwimRun aims to bring together 30 athletes to take on the challenge of Bali's first SwimRun and the goal is to fundraise US$60,000 to help protect the islands of Lembongan and Ceningan from plastic pollution.
The environmental challenge presented by plastic is well documented. What is less clear is what we can do as individuals to tackle this problem. By combining our voices and supporting better recycling infrastructure and greater awareness among young people we are actively building a better future.
Our team's goal is to fundraise US$5500, with all proceeds going towards building a community recycling plant on the island of Lembongan and to help advocate for systemic change around single use plastic.
The island of Lembongan generates more than 1 tonne of plastic waste each day.
The inflow of waste is too high for it’s operating capacity of just 300kg a day - It’s a model that needs help to become established and made sustainable. Help with funding alongside advocacy to support change 🌏
We're inspired by the work of Bali Children Foundation Limited and want to support them by raising not only money but global awareness of plastic pollution and it's detrimental effects to our environment.
Please help us help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about Bali Children Foundation Limited, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing our page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
